Assembly
The Assembly team plays a vital role in delivering robust, precision test equipment.
The Assembly department will often be consulted by the Design department at an early stage in the development of a new test fixture, so the whole team will be happy with what’s being planned. It's by working together like this, sharing experience and specialist insight, that Elite's diverse teams come together to achieve world class results.
A day in the life of the Assembly Department
The Assembly team gets hands-on when a job is passed to them from the Drilling department. An Assembly specialist cross-references the job specification with the job box, which contains the Sales department quotation and customer specification. This ensures everything has been carried out correctly up to that point and adheres to the end-to-end quality assurance procedure that Elite Interfaces follows for every fixturing solution.
After completing the initial inspection, the Assembly team preps the job for wiring, which typically takes an hour or two. The parts are then fitted to the probe plate, which is then attached to the pre-prepped base pan. The base is then transferred to the Wiring department while the team continues to inspect and assemble the upper assembly. The duration of this process varies depending on the size and complexity of the parts required, but for most fixtures it will take several hours of meticulous work.
After the Wiring department completes its tasks, the job is returned to Assembly for final tests and checks. The Assembly team ensures the final product will meet specification before the fixture leaves the department for a final quality check by the Production Manager.
