Design
The design department at Elite handles everything to do with the mechanical design of the proposed electro-mechanical solution for the client.
A thorough understanding of the client's priorities is essential, so we begin with a meticulous briefing from the person who has envisioned the solution.
Thereafter, designing the solution involves 3D modelling of all the required parts, holding cross-team design reviews, contacting external suppliers to get quotations for parts and requesting Stores to order them.
Spotting errors in the 3D design phase is critical for us so that troubleshooting is minimised during the manufacture and assembly stages of the project.
The Design Department works hand in hand with the Drilling Department and the Machine Shop as the design engineers pass on/release/output the dimensioned engineering drawings or the CNC programs for the parts needed to be produced in-house.
The designers regularly discuss material and machining considerations with both of these departments during the design so that production goes smoothly.
As and when required, we hold meetings with other departments too, such as the Wiring and Assembly Departments, both during and after the design. This ensures that what we design is assembly-friendly and easily maintainable for the client.
Additionally, we make sure every design solution is operator-friendly and Health & Safety compliant.
Alongside the management of live, ongoing projects we keep up a continuous programme of research and development to improve Elite's designs and products.

Wiring
Elite's wiring technicians are highly trained and meticulously thorough, whether working on functional test or ICT systems.
