Using Elite's 3-axis CNC drilling/routing machines, the skilled and experienced engineers from the Drilling department cut materials down to useable sizes and apply strict quality control checks to ensure that the finished mechanical components meet the required specifications for accuracy and reliability.
They are responsible for reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics and for selecting and sourcing the necessary materials needed to construct mechanical parts for a customer's test fixture, such as metal or plastic to ensure it meets the customer's requirements.
The machinists start the day with visual and physical checks for all equipment before liaising with the Production Manager and the Data Prep department to establish the priorities for the day.
They will then prepare any raw material needed before beginning to manufacture parts using drawings or pre-prepared programs supplied by the Design and Data Prep teams.
